Hunkydory's "Butterfly Bouquet" Collection

I have written the following off my own back. This is my feeling and pride regarding Hunkydory. Nothing is going on between myself and Hunkydory crafts. I just felt I would write this blog post about Hunkydory crafts because many do ask me why I love the brand.

When it comes to paper craft collections then in my opinion you don't get any bigger or better than Hunkydory Crafts. I say paper craft collections but it's it's more like card at 350gsm for the background card and 300gms for the topper sheets, these 2 with the mix of Adorable Scorable & exceptional foiling is a recipe for perfection. That's not all, you can then add on elements included with certain collections such as encapsulated glitter, pearlescent card and even foiled acetate. These are just some elements that make not only the Hunkydory Crafts Brands a success but also in my view, makes the Hunkydory team some of the most hard working team/family in the crafting industry. They strive to give the crafting universe what they want and not only when they want it but before us crafters even know we want it to ensure they are ahead of the race for when it comes to seasonal and yearly trends.
One of the other elements Hunkydory are famed for when it comes to their collections are the concept card elements. Their standard "and I say that loosely" collections enable us crafters to go crazy with our imagination and create cards and projects to how ever we want. The Hunkydory team back at Hunkydory Towers and on the DT (including myself) work hard to offer a range of ideas for crafters to get started whether we are beginners or seasoned crafters and also should we be unsure of where to start when we receive our collection. The variety of ideas given stem from ideas leaflets, on screen demos, website tutorials, social media including the likes of Twitter, Pinterest and of course facebook. Where as their fun and quirky concept cards and projects are there to add just that - fun and also a different spin on the collection. It enables you to create a card or project that is a 3D model and creates movement. However the concept card expand even more if you use them in a way they were not intended for. Strip them back and use the main elements to create you own unique card that was originally designed to be created a specific way.
 The list of possibilities are endless with What you can create. When you start to bring in their adorable scorable, diamond sparkles, paper pads, ribbons all to name a few the hours, weeks and months of fun you can have is quite simply mind blowing. Origami with their double sided papers, gift boxes, frames and everything else you think of.
 The Hunkydory Crafts brand and the Hunkydory family really do go all out to offer you not only top quality, not only value for money but also versatility in every single collection they bring to us crafters.
 This is why I adore and love the Hunkydory brand and the products they bring. I will continue to be honoured and have pleasure of being on Hunkydorys Design Team for aslong as they will have me but also for as long as I'm crafting, Hunkydory will always be part of my crafting life.

Just some cards using Hunkydorys new pick of the week collection on create and craft - Butterfly bouque.

Tuesday 17 February 2015

Celebrate a birthday - Sue Wilson style.

Good evening. Well it's evening as I type this blog post. Sitting blogging this post while having a cup of hot juice (as I'm cutting down on the amount of tea I drink) and catching up with tv. First things first, episode one of season 13 of Hells Kitchen usa. I do like Gordon Ramsays shows. Anyway, I'm sure you didn't want to know all that.
 It's been a busy day for me, a good busy. Iv had a day of playing with some new products I have got. If your a Hunkydory fan then they have a gorgeous pick of the week launching this Friday on create and craft. I had so much fun making samples for the shows, I hope you enjoy seeing what Iv made. It's even more special as the lovely Anne-Marie is BACK on our screens. Anne-Marie has been back at HD towers a few weeks now after her maternity leave but now it's time for us to see her back on screen. It will be a cracking launch. I can tell you that it's called Butterfly Bouquet and it's gorgeous. Head across to Hunkydory crafts facebook page for some sneak peaks.
 Now, this card below is made using Sue Wilson Scandinavia collection that's by Creative Expresion. This is the first time I have ever used dies by both Sue Wilson/Creative Expressions and I got to say I love them. Each set in the collection mixes and matches with each other (as there's 5 sets of dies in the collection) and each set has about 5 dies in them. The versatility of each collection is quite mind blowing. I start with an idea in my head and by the time Iv finished, it looks nothing like what I had planned to do as so many different ideas pop in my head as I'm working away, so I chop and change my card layout plan.
 This card is made primarily of 3 companies - Creative Expression dies, Stix2 adhesives and PaperMill direct. As you will know (if you know me or follow me all over social media) Stix2 and PaperMill Direct are both companies I use all the time. I only use Stix2 when it comes to All adhesives. Every adhesive product in my craft room is Stix2 branded. Head to stix2 website for more info on their full range. I get asked what I use to stick down my detailed die cuts, I always use stix2's pva glue with metal tip. It has such a fine and detailed tip that is perfect for attaching your detailed die cuts down. http://www.stix2.co.uk/pva-and-glues/30ml-ph-neutral-pva-glue-with-metal-nib

 I have used many card companies over the years but have used PMD (PaperMill Direct) for quite some time until lately where I use it all the time. Not just because I'm now on their dt but because the card product is exception quality. Coloured, black or white - I go to PMD all the time. Also check out PMD website for a full range of card and envelopes that they produce from their own mill. It's really worth trying PMD linen card stock so head across and order some.

Mark a book with a little love bookmark.

Afternoon.
Well we are very close to valentine day now. Hope you all have something lovely organised for your loved ones. If your like me and single this year hope you enjoy your weekend what ever you get up to. Few drinks with friends sound like a plan for me.
 Have you seen Stix2 new range of card stock? They now have;
 Hammered embossed 300gsm card stock in white and cream.
 Linen embossed 300gsm card stock also in white and cream.
 But that's not all, head across to stix2 website at www.stix2.co.uk where you can find their full range of products as well as their brand new products such as the card above, pearlescent card, Pastel pink/pastel blue gingham card stock AND card blanks in 2 colours - white and Ivory and in a multiple range of sizes.
 You know my passion for Stix2 and boy it is growing day by day.
 I was very lucky to have a sneak peak at the White linen and hammered card in advance to try out. So although it's not completely clear at first, but on the bookmark below that I have created, it has been stamped twice - once on stix2 bookmark and then again onto a piece of linen white card stock. I have coloured in the 2nd stamped image using my pro markers and then 3D onto the base bookmark using silicone glue. You still get the hammered effect coming through the ink as well as still fitting beautifully in the bookmark sleeve. I added a Dawn Bibby sentiment stamp and Stix2 white and red saying ribbon through the whole. Lovely wee gift to give your loved one to use in her/her books or keep and admire in a special place.
 The products I have used to create the bookmark are;

Stix2;
Die cut bookmark - S57315.
Bookmark Sleeves - S57317.
Silicone glue - S57100.
Non stick craft sheet - S57132.
White Hammered card - A4300WHITEHAMMER.-
9mm double faced red satin ribbon - S57199.
3mm double faced white satin ribbon - S57192.

Additional;
Kanban Rose stamp
Apple cider, Ice grey 2 & Poppy - pro marker.
Tuxedo black - memento ink pad.
Stamping block.
